I believe the mountains don’t just change how we see the world, they change how we see ourselves.
I’m Julia Hamilton, a mountaineer, filmmaker, and storyteller behind Julia in the Alps, a platform where high mountains meet human stories.
What started as a personal love and passion for the mountains grew into a mission: to share the transformative power of mountain adventure with a wider audience. Through expeditions, films and live talks, I tell stories about resilience, courage and what happens when we step beyond what feels comfortable.
Mountaineer
I’ve climbed some of the world’s most iconic peaks, including Mount Everest, and I’m on an ongoing journey through the great mountain ranges of the world, from the Alps to the Himalayas.
But for me, mountaineering isn’t about ticking summits off a list. It’s about the process: early starts in the dark, the teamwork on a rope, the quiet moments above the clouds, and the lessons we carry back down into everyday life.
Through Julia in the Alps, I aim to make high mountains feel inspiring, respectful, and real, showing both the beauty and the challenges of life at altitude.
Filmmaker & Storyteller
Mountains are powerful on their own, but stories are what help us connect.
I create films and visual stories from expeditions and remote places, capturing not only dramatic landscapes but also the human side of adventure — doubt, determination, friendship and growth.
My work bridges the gap between expedition and emotion, helping audiences feel what it’s like to be there, not just see it.
