Beyond the Summit
Documentary films that focus on the people, preparation, and pressure behind every climb.
Alongside my mountaineering, I work as a documentary filmmaker specialising in highaltitude environments. With more than 20 years of experience in international media production, I combine strong narrative craft with first-hand expedition experience to tell human stories from the world’s most demanding landscapes. My films focus on the people behind the climb, their preparation, teamwork, and resilience, capturing not only the scale of the mountains but the emotional journey that unfolds along the way.
Legends of Everest (2025)
Legends of Everest follows the journey to the highest point on Earth from both a climber’s and an expedition organiser’s perspective. The film goes beyond the summit moment to reveal the complex reality behind an Everest expedition — the vital role of Sherpas, the dynamics within the team and the mental resilience required to keep moving upward in one of the harshest environments on the planet.
Blending first-hand experience with powerful high-altitude imagery, the film offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at what it truly takes to climb Everest.
Manaslu
In the Shadow of the Spirit (2024)
In the Shadow of the Spirit documents an expedition to the world’s eighth-highest mountain, told through the voices of climbers at different stages of the ascent. Through interviews, on-mountain footage, and sweeping Himalayan landscapes, the film explores what it takes, physically and emotionally, to climb at extreme altitude and how the experience feels from the inside.
It is a story of preparation, perseverance, and the shared journey that unfolds on the slopes of a high Himalayan peak.
The Way to the Matterhorn (2021)
The Way to the Matterhorn portrays the iconic peak not just as a famous summit, but as a place of real challenge, exposure, and instinctive decision-making. One of the Alps’ most demanding mountains, the Matterhorn draws thousands each year, with deceptively complex and dangerous terrain, especially on the descent. The film captures the careful steps, nervous chatter, and raw emotion behind climbing and descending this legendary peak.
The film screened at the BMC Women in Adventure Film Competition and was later commissioned by Euronews, published in multiple languages to reach an international audience.
The Eiger Attraction (2022)
My film about the Eiger explores the powerful character of this legendary mountain and the unique experience of climbing within its dramatic alpine setting. Rather than focusing solely on the summit, it reflects on the atmosphere, history, and intensity that define the Eiger, capturing both the physical challenge and the emotional landscape of the climb.
The film was featured at the Wetherby Festival 2023, as part of Mountain Adventure Night, highlighting its place in contemporary mountain storytelling.
