Travel to Milan, drinks, your personal gear, your personal expenses, anything that’s not in the “What’s included” section.
OUR PROGRAMME:
DAY 1: Arrival in Alagna from Milan, Italy and overnight stay in a hotel with half board (dinner and breakfast included).
A relaxing start to get into the mountain vibe! We will get to know each other and exchange mountain stories!
DAY 2: Hike up to Rifugio Barba Ferrero, a lovely mountain hut located at 2200m. It’s cosy and welcoming and the hike takes around 3 hours with 900m of elevation gain for a night in a beautiful alpine setting.
DAY 3: Descent back down to Alagna and take the cable car up to Passo dei Salati.
There, we will receive technical equipment and meet our IFMGA guides, together we will continue to Rifugio Mantova 3498m for the night.
DAY 4: Summit Day Capanna Margherita 4554m
Our highlight day! A very early start and a spectacular ascent to the highest hut in Europe. We will spend the night up there, in the heart of Monte Rosa.
DAY 5: Descend to Alagna and transfer to Milan
We return to Alagna in the morning and head back to Milan in the afternoon.
REQUIREMENTS:

You should be a fit regular hiker. The ascent is about 1000m from Rifugio Gnifetti so you should be able to manage 1000m of elevation gain in 3 hours at lower altitude to be ready for this.

You need to have the following in your alpine gear kit: crampon-compatible alpine boots, socks, base layers, midlayer (hoodie/fleece), softshell or hardshell trousers, GoreTex windproof and waterproof shell jacket, alpine down jacket, gloves, sleeping bag liner for the huts, backpack, personal items.
